"Could never resist an old book, a young girl or fresh idea"  is a very true statement when it comes to William Byrd.  He couldn't resist a old book for anything more specifically the bible. He made biblical statements when it came to writing in his diary. He ended every journal post in his published diary called Diary of William Byrd with "
"I had good health, good thoughts and good humor, thanks to god almighty." (Anthology of American Literature pg282)
Byrd said his prayers every night and read the bible for fun.

He really couldn't stop kissing girls for example in Anthology of American Literature(pg 282)(The Secret Diary of William Byrd of Westover) he stated,
"I went to the capitol where I sent for the wench to clean my room and when I came I kissed her and felt her, for which god forgive me."
He couldn't resist a fresh idea when it came to finding resolutions to problems. For example throughout the duration of his personal diary he had obvious problems with getting along with his wife. But lucky enough for him he resolved his issues with her in the last entry of his diary.

 Fun Facts:

  • Throughout Byrd's diary called The Secret Diary of William Byrd of Westover, I noticed for breakfast everyday he "ate" milk.
  • He would end everyone of his diary entries with ""I had good health, good thoughts and good humor, thanks to god almighty."
